Sub-regional forum: A Lifecycle Approach to Legal Identity – South Asia Regional Consultation
Held on the margins of the Third Ministerial Conference on CRVS in Asia and the Pacific, this side event will bring together civil registration professionals, government representatives, and development partners from South Asia to discuss accelerating progress toward universal CRVS through a lifecycle approach. The session will highlight the importance of interoperability between CRVS and health systems and the role of digitalization in improving access, efficiency, and inclusivity. Good practices and successful national initiatives will be shared, with a focus on reaching marginalized and hard-to-reach populations.

Side-event: Cause of death statistics in the era of ICD-11
Held on the margins of the Third Ministerial Conference on CRVS in Asia and the Pacific, this side event will showcase how three countries—Japan, the Philippines, and Rep. of Korea—are producing cause of death statistics through fully covered civil registration systems. The session will focus on their transition to ICD-11 and share lessons learned to support other countries in achieving comprehensive death registration, including cause of death data. Target participants include Member State representatives, CRVS officials, technical experts, and civil society stakeholders.
